Historica Magazine

Dear history enthusiasts,

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the first issue of the Historica Magazine!

The articles in this magazine aim to convey the joy of history brought to life, expand your knowledge of days gone by, and offer a taster of our Historica Festival. Our aim is not merely to present history, but to bring it to life – making it vibrant, inspiring and full of stories just waiting to be discovered.

Look forward to exciting features covering a range of historical themes: whether it’s a detailed look at the chronology of the Crusades, a sewing guide for making your own apron dress, or a few curious side notes such as ‘Knights vs. Snails’ and the famous robber baron Eppelein von Gailingen.

You’ll find more fascinating history in the Karfunkel magazine and at the Historica Festival, the reenactment fair in Kassel. Historica stands for history brought to life in all its facets. From antiquity to the modern era, from artisanal precision to vivid reenactments of bygone eras: our festival brings together people who not only wish to preserve history but also to bring it to life.

We are particularly proud of the international diversity of our exhibitors and participants. Reenactors, craftspeople, artists and traders from many parts of Europe help to ensure that the Historica is far more than just a market or an exhibitionit is a place for exchange, learning and shared passion.

We hope you enjoy this magazine and look forward to exciting encounters, new discoveries and unforgettable experiences at the Historica Festival!

With warm regards,
your Historica Team
